Weclome to the Blog/News section of our new website…

This section will provide you with news of what the agency is doing within our community and keep you up to date and connected with the agency.

Here are a few things that the agency has been doing over the past few months.

In June LDCSS participated in the ABORIGINAL DAYS CELEBRATION held at Spirit Square providing balloons, games and prizes for children and youth in attendance. It was great to see the kids enjoy the bean bag toss, and the “spin the wheel” for a prize.

The agency has had a busy summer starting with July 1st, Canada Day!

The agency participated in the Canada Day parade this year. The weather was great and it was wonderful to see so many community members out to enjoy the festivities. LDCSS decorated our bus as our float and handed out candy and balloons. It was a lot of fun!!! The weather was great and the turnout was excellent!

LDCSS provided transportation services out to the TERRY FOX RUN this year for seniors wishing to participate in this community event. Transportation services were also provided to seniors to attend the annual Fall Fair. It is great to see so many enjoying these annual events. If you are interested in renting our bus for an event, contact us @ 250 692 7577 for more information.

Fall is already upon us and I can’t believe the summer has passed (yet again) so quickly!

The FALL FAIR was another community event that LDCSS participated in. The UNITED WAY of Northern BC held its annual Fire Truck Pull and fund raising event at the Fall Fair grounds. It was the ultimate tug of war challenge and a GREAT team building event. Our team of 10 gathered and joined the fun on Saturday September 6th at the Lakes District Fall Fair for the second annual Burns Lake Fire Truck Pull. Our team played “tug of war” with a fire truck weighing over 30,000 lbs and was one of three teams to compete for “bragging rights”! Great Fun!!
